i've heard that someone told a close friend: "i don't remember (name) being so good looking."
so i think there is a lot of talk behind our backs!
that said, this original post should be made into a STICKY
great post

i just read an article that one doc had patients lightly massaging at day 3
(can't seem to post it)
you did it at day 6
and only one time
so, you'll be fine, especially since there was no bleeding or re-opening of the slits
just don't do it again till after 2 weeks to be safer
-
i've heard everything from baby shampoo to anything that is not medicated
at least for the first 3-4 weeks
but then again some docs recommend regaine which is very drying early on so...

uodate? this guy is already partying hard at 3.5 months!
lol! but with his hair type, head shape, fue and design he's sitting pretty
can't wait to see the end result though too
-
wow! that's gonna be some density!
but the temple angles are below the central part of the hairline
maybe he wanted it that way
gotta look at a few of dr. rahal's other designs to see if that's how he usually does them
hey who's to argue with dr. rahlal though with that density, right?
good luck, dude!

hey knud
this is very easy to do on your own
step 1:
take a piece of plastic wrap and place it around your head, flat to the forehead and over the ears.
tape it or secure it in the back so it is tight
step 2
then draw the outline of the hairline you want on the wrap with a marker
step 3
print out this pic which is a page of cm2 boxes
Graph Paper to Print - 1cm Squared Paper
step 4
place the wrap with the outline over the sheet of cm2 boxes
count the boxes within the outline
this will give you the recipient area in cm2 that you want covered
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
for temple points the most grafts that are done in this area is around 40 grafts per cm2 because you do not want that area too thick
for the hairline and temple angles the amount of grafts can vary depending on the doctor you choose but most shoot for somewhere between 40 and 60 for each cm2
you can make templates for many different hairline designs and calculate the approx cm2 and grafts needed with this method

you went to the best of the best
belgium is the place for hair
hope you get in the study

getting FUE to frame the face better is an option if you are willing to have less or no hair in the crown
even if you you do go NW6, doing FUE would allow you to buzz the entire head to a stubble and this stubble will still frame the face and not be a far off contrast to the bald skin mid-line and crown if you do go NW6
of course like GREAT JOB states: This all depends how your FUE donor area scars
if you wind up scarring as in the second pic posted by GREAT JOB you can always tattoo those areas to disguise which would be a better option than tattoo-ing the hairline
hair transplants are no longer only for older men who want a head of hair that is continuous from hairline (no matter how high) to crown
just make sure to convey to whomever you choose to do this that you are aware and willing to bald behind the recipient area due to your willingness to "buzz to stubble look"
i think most FUE docs would take your case knowing this, even at your age
-
is the texture of your donor area like this texture?
if not then these grafts will eventually mimic those from that area
usually when women get transplants to the hairline, the grafts are angled flatter to the scalp than when a man gets a transplant to the hairline
this creates an illusion of density allowing a much greater lowering of the hairline in terms of cm2 with fewer grafts
yours looks like the hair was transplanted at a "less-acute" angle than i have seen on after pics of woman hairlines
you can always email any coalition doctor on this website for a consult re: whether this is a graft angle placement issue or a density issue and what they would recommend
totally worth a few opinions from other doctors
you only have information to gain
plus you have another 4 months or so before you do any additional surgery anyway, if that is your next step
-
dude love the cut
guys from the midwest in the US won't get it but from out here on the west coast you're rocking' it BOLD!

even if a person tested negative for HIV at the time of surgery, couldn't they still have the virus
due to the window between contracting the virus and the production of antibodies?
i still think clinics should have patients run full blood work if only to access thrombo time is within accepted parameters
but maybe, well definitely, surgeons who do not require any testing know more than i do about these matters
-
i always wondered how such a large area on a woman can be covered with so few grafts
while on a male it seems to lower the hairline that much and have such coverage, it would require double if not many more grafts
-
i've read research that had patients massaging lightly at day 3 and using rogaine that early as well
regardless of your method of shampooing, many hairs (not the follicle beneath the surface) will fall within the first week
methods vary throughout the industry
that said, you did this massaging on a whim or by your doctor post-op instructions?
you have excellent hair characteristics for a great outcome
-
but I didn't really answer.
that is very funny!
yeah, just say, "Done? You think I look that good. Thanks."
-
hey jet fan
you have a great attitude
i can learn a lot from your post to hair gainer
anyway, just wanted to say it touched a nerve
and good luck, mate

sometimes the body can't convert usable Vitamin D from the sun
so you need to supplement
-
early growth for only 4 months!
you are going to be one happy camper
are you using propecia?
-

i know a few people you stayed at the new guest house
STAY THERE!!!!!
it is 2 blocks walking from the clinic and they supply everything
privacy is not a issue. if you want to socialize that is an option but the house is so big and clean, one of my friends said that was the best part of the whole experience!
every room has a flatscreen and a private bath, either off the room or in the room
i saw pics and a video, it looks like a spa!
fresh towels ALWAYS AVAILABLE and a washer and dryer for private use
a stocked refrigerator
full kitchen
also big cushy leather recliners in every room
at least 20 foot ceilings in the main living room and a separate bonus room off the entrance
there is a backyard and a wall of windows off the open concept first floor
plus a finished basement
there is so much room, you can get lost!
but it feels like home!
she said most of the time the house felt empty since many people just stay a night or two
she stayed 2 weeks and didn't want to leave and wants to build a house like this one for herself!
some people came with there with their spouses, mothers, one came with his grandmother!
the clinic is up the road so any issue and someone is right over
in fact she said someone drove her to the place after the surgery
it almost made me want to book with rahal but canada is too far
-
This is easily fixable
Although your doctor got good coverage for only 1200 grafts, this is not enough for the area you wanted covered
Yes the texture my be different than the native hair but this is always the case in the first couple of years after a transplant. Some hair types will show this more
As for the direction of the transplanted hair, i think once you have another round to beef up the density this will not be as much of an issue when it is fully grown
Please go to another doctor though
With these types of cosmetic surgeries, unless the doctor specifically speaks to you about needing multiple surgeries to get you where you want to be, i would not give him a second chance, even for free
it's worth the few extra bucks and another 8 months of recovery to get this done to your satisfaction, which is not unreasonable
that said, your doctor did make the most of 1200 grafts for the recipient area in terms of overall coverage
DO FRET THOUGH
THIS IS VERY EASY TO FIX and would not be considered a repair
just most grafts for density

I just want to babysit my kids while they ski the easy stuff. There about a 0% chance I'll fall. It's been 10 days and I still have stitches in my head. I figure a ski helmet is much better to wear than a knit cap and the helmet isn't at all uncomfortable. Ok to spend a few hours skiing with them?
NO!
not with stitches

I had two consultations for HT so this will be my third procedure. One doctor is really pushing for cutting my hair in the recipient area to one centimeter or less because as he explained it it is very hard to do dense packing without cutting my hair very short. The other doctor said he is fine with any length of hair. My previous 2 HT I didn’t have to cut my hair short but the results were not great. The problem I am having is concealing the HT once I am back to work. Cutting my hair short in the front and leaving it long in the back will make me look funny, and in my line of work I can’t really wear a hat. Both Doctors are recommended here on this site and are very respectful. Any suggestions of what should I do?
how many grafts per cm2 do you consider dense packing?
Anyone have SMP at Shapiro yet
in Scalp Micropigmentation (SMP)

i agree wylie
any cosmetic procedure is temporary and needs some kind of maintenance in the long run
