no biggie
sounds like a small area

thanks guys
yeah, it was 3600 grafts
mostly ones and twos in the breakdown
either they were broken down from larger grafts
or
the higher number of 1 and 2 hair grafts make it possible to have such a high graft density per cm2
and not look like a rug in person, that is, his donor doesn't appear to be so dense in person, but maybe because they are mostly 1 and 2 hair grafts....
his doc said they don't "split" grafts but can't see how else you get 3600 grafts from 24 cm2
interesting though
guess we'll never know the truth
-
a friend just had FUT
3600 grafts from a strip of 24 cm2
which comes out to 150 graft per cm2
sounds waaaaay above average
thoughts?

I'm a 34 y/o male one month post HT.
I've never used Finasteride or Minoxidil before but want to start using both now. How should I introduce them for best results? I'm guessing not at the same time, in which case which one should I start with, and how long should I wait before adding the other?
Thanks!
fin and minox at the same time has a synergistic effect
add dutaseride .5mg once/twice and week in place of the din
and....to the moon!
google terms to find studies
-
(yes, no need for pics)
congratulations!
-
be grateful you do not have shock loss around the donor scar site
looking good
happy growing

way to go!
To moving on and moving up!
good luck

fat graft or (what is referred to as: fat transfer) is lipo'd fat from one area (eg. back fat) and injecting in another area.
the fat is usually spun (centrifuge) to separate blood and fibrous material (some also claim to separate stem cells) before re-injected
i say injected (cannula--in and out or syringe) when referring to fat transfer because that is what they are probably doing a fat transfer through injection. Thus the fat is disrupted in the process
technically fat graft is when an fairly structurally-intact piece (strip) of fat is cut out and "grafted" sewn onto another area
most use the terms interchangeably but actually mean fat injection
that said, maybe they are "spinning" out the stem cells and re-injecting those hoping for hair growth
good luck

hey rogar
ever think of hair from the nape of your neck?
these do not count as hair in the safe donor region but if you are getting FUE they are definitely the "softest"
-
Don't do it!
Get on fin and minox
save $ for 3 years
use an airplane to go on consults
good luck
-
keep it buzzed
get on fin and minox for 2 years
just do it every day, don't think about it for 2 years
see where you are
then consult
-
good for you john!
-
can't wait to read your Dr. B write up
looking good for 2 months
can see fuzz too
good luck

if lorenzo declined you then forget about HT...for now
no ethical doc will operate on you with this stage hair loss at your age and no fin
your life IS NOT DEPENDING ON THIS
re-read COOL525 x-lent post
continue with the psych and meds
other advice:
spit in the face of your hair
buzz all your hair OFF!!!
it will be freeing
see if you like it
if you don't it will grow back in a few months
the same amount of time that a HT would take
plus you will have no scars
looks like you got a great shaped head to do this
then you will be home free
other option is a hair system
the ones that are replaced weekly look REAL to the touch
but are $$$
try one
just for fun
you might hate it
but you will be the one in control
not the hair
everyone can see you are balding, trying to hide it will only make your mental state worse
EMBRACE IT the way it is now with the plan of making it better in the future
see it either of these ways (buzzed, system, or HT after a year or 2 on fin) and it will be

Update: July 3, 2014, another 1,417 grafts were added to the same region worked on before via fue. So, add 3,016 from prior procedure and the recent 1,417 grafts to get and idea of how many grafts were used in the same region.
It should be noted i still have native hairs visible before recipient placement as of 8/10/2014. This is evident from prior procedure as well as this one.
Really hoping for the best. Lots of grafts used hoping to get that luscious density and forehead distinction lowered and temples pushed forward and closed to reduce the look of prominent forehead. This was the initial goal and was the ultimate goal.
Followed you from the beginning
so glad to see you hung in there and had another procedure
only the best to you
-
that's fine
TRY to spray every 20 mins when awake
TRY that is if it is every hour or two then that is fine too
for the first week: the less you do to the grafts the better
I doubt Dr. Cooley told you to put plastic wrap over the grafts to keep them moist
Please double check on these instructions
-
it's probably from the saline getting trapped under plastic wrap
never heard of plastic wrap post op
i'd ko that step
i bet it comes off after your next wash
looks really clean
congrats

Ingrown hair/pimple comes later right? Not 3 weeks into the surgery ? And its not a pimple. I guess it might be my skull shape too lol as I have read they take the donor strip right below a part of the skull. So that skull shape along with the numbness along with the sudden dip in hair ( where donor hair was taken) is giving me an illusion of it being a bump. I think I will wait and see how things turn out. Thanks for the reply
ingrown hair/pimples IN THE DONOR can occur very soon after the area is closed-up,
though this is not what you have after reading you last update about the shape of your head
it was good to email your doc and am glad all is good
if you do get ingrown hairs and /or pimples in donor or recipient do try the salicylic acid wash
happy growing
