This is what my hair does before I tame it with the Aloe Vera spray. This is just blown dry, again, using my hands as a brush on top, however, I tried using a brush to blow dry the curls in the back out. It...kinda worked? It really doesn’t look bad; it just surprises me that the texture is so different in the back than it is in the front and when reallocated to the front from the back it goes back to that same texture. I’ve heard that this is a thing that transplanted hair does but to see it in person Is different. I have used a brush on my recipient before while blow drying but it pretty much looks the same. It’s like a wave. Lol I guess why they call it wavy. And if I just brush my hair back after a shower and let it air dry...it’s insane. This may sound culturally insensitive and if I offend anyone I’d like to offer my sincerest apology beforehand but if you’ve ever heard the term, ’the white man’s Afro’; that’s me. It’s just, like, BIG everywhere. If I run my hands through my hair for a bit I can find a nice medium. But if I don’t have some kinda spray on hand to put in there it immediately goes back to crazy town the moment I move. I’ve started to experiment with clays and powders and the such but I really just don’t care for putting product in my hair. I think if I’m going to experiment more with those I’ll probably wait until I do get a cut to help shape it. Something I wanted to add to my 10 month update is that NO ONE who doesn’t know about the transplant has said anything or asked about my hair. I’m not saying they’re not talking about me behind my back but I haven’t noticed any funny looks or second glances.

10 Months has come and gone. Last week I shared some pics of my hair wet and with fibers and I feel like my hair texture has changed a lot in just the past 7 days. It’s been months since I’ve had a proper hair cut but I’m starting to really like the length on it. I’ll probably get a cut sooner or later but for now I’m really enjoying that there’s hair to grow out! There’s definitely some areas that were worked on that I’m going to want to get touched up but I seriously have no complaints about what’s been done and if I only move forward closing my crown and never touching those areas I would still be very happy. Other than letting it grow out and that the hairs are really thickening up there’s not much to report. The hair on the right side of my head is getting much thicker, as well. It’s getting much harder to see through to the scalp. As it is I’m just really very happy. I do have to put product in it now as the texture has gotten extremely wavy. It’s an Aloe Vera spray that’s very light and dries very quickly but it really helps to allow me to tame it to a degree. It really helps it to look like it’s looked in past updates. I have a couple of pictures to somewhat help illustrate this. This is my hair just blown dry. I don’t use a brush so much as I use my hands to run through it as I blow it dry. I guess I should also add that I put the hair dryer on a low cool setting for my recipient and a higher hotter setting for the back of my head. I don’t know if those pics really illustrate my point. Maybe I’ll try and grab some pics tomorrow to show what I mean. Here’s in the bathroom with product. I feel like I’ve said this in the past but when I spoke to Dr Arocha about planning my hairline design I said that I wanted more of a temporal recession. I’m very happy with those corners but I think at some point in the future I’ll add some grafts to the middle of my hairline to strengthen it. It’s certainly not that bad and it’s incredible compared to what it once was (or wasn’t). I feel like what the doc did is very natural looking and a lot of guys have it but I think I want a stronger hairline right here in the middle. I’d put an arrow there but I feel like you can’t miss it. It’s purely for greed, though. I’ve been watching it, as others have also commented on it, since things really started kicking off. Like I said if I were to just close my crown off at this point I’d be as happy as could be. Here’s under the ring light and still with the Aloe Vera spray. I think that’s it for now. This is still one of the very best forums to get real patient reviews of doctors. While it is true that doctors pay fees to the site they are also paying them to help keep the site running. That’s my understanding, at least. Maybe @Melvin-Moderator can help shed some light on this, though. In order for a doctor to be recommended here they have to go through a vetting process by us, the members. If they are chosen then they start to pay fees. If a doctor’s work starts to slip they are held accountable and they could be booted from being recommended here. It’s happened at least twice in the last decade. The forum has gotten a lot of flack in the past because of doctors paying fees here. I’ve, personally, never had a problem with it. Unfortunately money makes the world go round and it’s just as true for those that help make this site possible. That’s only how I look at it. Not everyone agrees with me and that’s fine. I’m just sayin’, had I not found this site I might have made a bad choice while looking for a doctor. OR I might not have had the procedure at all. I’d still be a sad bald sack. That’s my 2 cents but I totally respect those who have a problem with it. They have they’re reasons, also.

Yeah man, I’m excited! And thank you. Seeing what the first one did I can’t wait to close off my crown. Lol I didn’t know how real hair greed was until I did this! My scar is really good on the back and left side of my head but it’s definitely wider on the right. It’s really not a big deal for me as I keep my hair long but I’ll still probably throw some grafts in there via FUE when all is said and done. Your scar looks incredible at this stage. Both Feller and Bloxham tend to get stellar scars, man! I’m looking forward to seeing where your transformation goes!👍🏻

Check out the BHR YouTube channel. There are a couple scattered throughout if I recall. I can’t remember if any patients have posted any. Do a search in the top right of the page, if you haven’t already, and you might find some. The YT channel is definitely worth checking out, though. And I have to agree with everyone. Wow. Just...Wow.

I have. I went with Dr. Arocha back in April last year. I’m very happy. My doctor did right by me. I’ve still got some time for things to mature but I only had my hairline and frontal third touched and I’m going to go back in to have my mid scalp and crown worked on sometime after my 12 months. Maybe some touch up work on my hairline depending on how things go in the next few months. I don’t know how much help it might be since you’ve already gone through the process but feel free to check it out. I tried to be as thorough as possible throughout my process.

I would get these during the post op process. I had the same concern and asked my doc. He said that they were ingrown hairs. The hot water from the shower makes them easier to open up while you rubbing your head during the wash. It’s perfectly normal and the doc said it’s actually good as those hairs need to be released. Your hair looks great pre-shed, btw! Congrats! I followed your progress with Dr. Nader as I was heavily considering him myself. No offense to Dr. Nader. You had some fine growth with him but IF I had gone to Nader, myself, I would’ve had to go get a touch up from another doctor, as well. Dr. Bloxham is an incredible doc and your post op pics look miles beyond what you looked like with Nader. Fingers crossed that in 5 or 6 months you’re going to see some pretty awesome growth!!

Thanks @Mycroft!! I really appreciate those kind words! I think I’ve said this before but back in 2012 before I started taking meds I had a split frontal forelock. I was mostly bald with these two horns right up front. I mostly shied away from pics and used concealer to hide it. So this spot up front filling in means a lot to me. Thank you for appreciating it! Lol

Hey everybody! Im just a week shy of 10 months but I wanted to post some pics. I went to a wedding over the weekend and I put a little caboki in my hair. While I don’t really have any pics from the wedding that are shareable I took some pics just before I washed it out Now, when I say I really didn’t put that much in my hair I’m really only comparing it to how I used to load my hair down with fibers in combination with dermmatch to get a look of full coverage prior to my transplant. I only sprinkled it in the center of my hairline and in the corners of the temporal recession but that small amount made such a huge impact on my look. I’ll post some pics I snapped of my hair wet to compare to preop. Same lighting as usual but with fibers. If I’m being perfectly honest I don’t ever go out with fibers. I’ve done it less than a handful of times since my transplant. This was more of an experiment just to see how it helped out my current situation. I haven’t posted a pic of my hair wet in a while so here it is after I washed the fibers out. So while that’s still a bit see through there’s definitely been some progress from the last time I shared some wet pics at 6 months BUT compare it to my preop wet top down: There’s a huge difference. Thats all for now. I’ll be back in a week or so with a 10 month update. I’ll be around otherwise.

Well, like I said, you’re already in great shape as you don’t look like you’ve had anything done, judging by the pictures you posted so far and while you may look like a bald guy right now you won’t look like that one day very very soon. 👍🏻👍🏻😬

While you currently look like a bald guy you’re also in this really sweet spot with your recipient as it doesn’t look like a single thing has been done to it. 👍🏻 I’m really excited for you!! This waiting game we play is the hardest part. I’m curious as to how your donor is looking.

If you had a hair transplant 3 weeks ago then you should still only be seeing the grafts and natural hair as stubble. Your shed should start soon and then you’ll ideally start seeing new growth in between months 3 and 5 but you probably won’t notice your natural hair is longer until the end of the month. That’s a generalization but hair just grows so slowly. Seriously, no worries. All you can do now is wash that head of yours and wait for your hair to grow. 🙂

Agree with everyone. It’s nothing to worry about. I had a few grafts hold out on growing until 6 and 7 months. Other forum members have posted the same thing happening to them and the majority of them grew out to have beautiful luxurious locks. 🙂 Good luck and don’t stress. They’ll shed and work their way back up to the surface soon enough.

9 Months! Yesterday, was my 9 month mark. I’m very happy with the results of my hair transplant. I know that I still have some maturing to go but from where I started it’s night and day. The only way I could style my hair the way that I style it now was to load it down with fibers. Now I just run my hands back through my hair. Is it perfect? Perfection, like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder. I’m very happy. I’m also very greedy. 😂🤣 Greedy for more hair!! I inherited a coin collection from a deceased relative and their camera microscope came with it...so naturally I put it against my scalp to see what I could see. And the truth is I couldn’t distinguish what was what at this point. I saw hairs that were thicker than others but what was natural vs transplanted? I couldn’t tell you. I did see a couple of smaller sprouts hiding back within my scalp. So there’s that. I also, unfortunately, started a shed last week. I don’t know if it’s visible in the pictures. I feel like it’s visible in my top down pic taken in my bathroom but I feel like that area is always weaker since it was the weaker side to begin with. It really hasn’t made a hugely impactful difference in the body of my hair overall, however, despite Fin and minox there are A LOT of hairs coming out in the shower when I wash my hair so it’ll be a few months before all that comes back in. What is interesting to me is that my hair has taken on a much wavier texture during the maturation process. The frontal area is much wavier now than it was before, I assume, due to it being taken from an area where it’s much wavier In the back. It was wavy to begin, for sure, with but not to this extent. No complaints. I’m interested to see where it goes from here and how it compliments the rest of my head when I continue with more transplants. These pics were taken yesterday at the 9 month mark. As always, there’s no product or fibers in my hair. These next pics were taken this morning under the ring light. The only product in my hair is some minox in my crown which is only visible in the one pic. That’s all for now. I’ll be around. 🙂✌🏻

Dude, seriously, I echo Melvin when I say, what an improvement! I understand your concerns but I think when those hairs Do start thickening up around the 8-12 month point it’s going to turn around for you mentally. It already looks so good, though. Congrats!!
