  1. I have been told that shock loss does not occur until month 2 or so. I had an HT and I noticed considerable hair fall out from day 1. Is this something different or was I just incorrectly informed about the timing of shock loss.

Also, isn't propecia the best weapon against shock loss?

  3. I am 3 days removed from an HT. All is well but I was wondering if I could get some suggestions for accelerating the healing of the scalp and donor area. I would like to go on a 3 day vacation before I go back to work, but I need to heal faster in order to to this.

Should I get another bottle of graftcyte? My bottle is almost gone? What about copper peptide, salt water etc.?

  4. Actually, I stated that I take it every 3 days, not 3 time per week. Is that not enough? I seem to benefit from it?

That being said, my real question was whether I should split the pills and take partial pils each day or just take a whole pill every 3 days? Is one way more benefial than the other?

    Thanks

  5. Well, I met with my doctor. Quite frankly it was very disappointing. He could not tell me how grafts were placed in certain areas. He also said he could not distignuish between the new hairs and the pre-existing hairs. He did not seem to be very interested in the follow up. I am going to look for a new doc and have my file transferred.

    Hairworthy, thanks for your input.

  6. I have my first follow up meeting with my HT doc coming up. I received 2000 grafts 12 months ago. I am considering a 2nd HT because I didn't achieve the density I had expected.

After reading alot of posts on this forum, I am considering changing docs as well.

First of all, what sort of questions should I ask?

If I do decide to change docs, is it ok to ask the current doc to transfer my file to another doc? (I don't want to offend anyone.)

If I go to a 2nd doc, will they be able to tell what existing hairs are transferred to what is my original hair? Wouldn't this be important for a 2nd HT?

Should my file from my first HT have a record of how many grafts were placed and where they were placed?

  8. I had a HT of 2000 grafts 8 months ago, primarily in the frontal area. I was a NW 4- 5.

The density that my doc attempted to achieve was 20 to 25 grafts. ( I was not smart enough to ask about density upfront) This does not seem to be dense enough.

I probably need another 500 to 1000 grafts to get where I expected to be in the first place.

Should I broach this topic with my doc or simply find another doc? Would FUE be better than strip for such a small procedure?

  10. Turizan,

The pics for the Mens Health magazine are close ups and look very good. The Dateline pics were after 6 months so they are somewhat inconclusive. (After only 6 months, I thought they looked very good, and quite frankly, better than my recent HT). They are doing a follow up show in the near future.
