I posted this message from another board. Does anyone know about Dr. Shapiro's "New" cut and suture technique that this guy is talking abou?

Kebabman,

really sorry to hear of your infection experience and I really hope your next trip pays off. As you know I was out there the same time as you at Dr Shapiro's and had 1800 grafts placed (hoped for 2k but not enough cut out and my donor is area is just below average) next time it looks like another 1500/2000 to hopefully complete things.

I was told by one of the techs that she was flying to Florida to assist Dr Rose with your procedure as I thought you were booked in in the week I was there.

I found Dr Shapiro and the staff A1 and I got invited to to the Chrsitmas party and another function while there. All very friendly.

Most of the grafts have now shed and I'm now on the 'waiting list' to sprout out. The reaction from family and friends was quite something as they (or me) had never seen anything quite like it. The bonce is still a little tender but the suture line I'm told is already almost invisible which I'm really pleased about. Dr S told me he was using a newer cut and suture technique to avoid scarring either now or in future procedures I hope to have.

Anyway hope your wait isn't too long and best wishes.
