Senior Member waveskier Posted August 29, 2010 Senior Member Share Posted August 29, 2010 I have heard that hanging inverted like on a "BackSwing" is supposed to stimulate hair growth. I am just wondering if this is true? I really can't see how it could do any harm? Thanks Russ
Regular Member pablo Posted August 30, 2010 Regular Member Share Posted August 30, 2010 I tried it on my chinning bar and had to come down after a few minutes because my head felt too weird full of blood lol
Senior Member Blake Bloxham Posted August 30, 2010 Senior Member Share Posted August 30, 2010 Waveskier, Although this does appear to be a pretty popular question (as revealed by a quick internet search), there does not seem to be any validity to the claim that hanging upside down can increase hair growth. Senior Member aaron1234 Posted August 30, 2010 Senior Member Share Posted August 30, 2010 I've heard you have to hang upside for 10 consecutive hours for any chance of regrowth. 8P Dr. G: 1,000 grafts (FUT) 2008 Dr. Paul Shapiro: 2,348 grafts (FUT) 2009 ~ 1,999 grafts (FUT) 2011 ~ 300 grafts (Scar Reduction) 2013 Dr. Konior: 771 grafts (FUT) 2015 ~ 558 grafts (FUT) 2017 ~ 1,124 grafts (FUE) 2020 My Hair Transplant Journey with Shapiro Medical Group
Senior Member scar5 Posted August 30, 2010 Senior Member Share Posted August 30, 2010 There are not many well known HT surgeons in Australia and NZ for this reason (due to this effect of being in the Southern Hemisphere with their heads pointing down) But the blood rush to the head one gets hanging would also be a DHT rush?? Senior Member waveskier Posted August 30, 2010 Author Senior Member Share Posted August 30, 2010 Well not what I wanted to hear, but good to know. It is not very comfortable hanging for any reasonable length of time. At least I can say that it is good for my lower back. scart5 I knew there must be a reason that all those Aussies have such thick hair!
