Senior Member JustOne Posted March 12, 2012 Senior Member Share Posted March 12, 2012 Hi guys, I just wanted to share my hair transplant experience . It started when I freaked out when someone mentioned I was losing my hair line, after that I made one of the worst decisions of my life...I rushed into a hair transplant...Lets just say it didn't turn out the way they told me, I got plugged out and a really nasty scar on my head...I was 23 years old. Well I just turned 25 and things are looking up... I researched and talked to different doctors , as well as spex. Spex gave me some quality information, then I made an informed decision.. In the end I decided on Dr William Lindsey, in Mclean Virginia. Him and his team were wonderful, it was night and day in comparision to my last surgery. There was a scar revision with double layer trichophytic closure , I recieved 1758 grafts in total . 1002 singles and 756 doubles/triples. I went in for a check up before I left for home... All in all everything went great, and left me feeling very confident in their work. Also in light of my finacial situation Dr Lindsey was able to help me out, which was much appreciated... Please let me know what you think of the work done , I think it looks clean and should turn out great I will update this thread once a month and keep track ! Thanks, this is also posted on a different thread Currently taking proscar M-W-F 1.25mg 6 months and counting

Senior Member JustOne Posted March 13, 2012 Author Senior Member Share Posted March 13, 2012 I think I'm going to add the scar cut out and on the table , its soo nasty looking but people will get a clear picture of what it looked like... I like sharing my experience with the others on these forums , its kind of therapeutic! Its looking much cleaner at the recpient site , some of the grafts shed with the crust, but lots are still hanging on . Man, i cant believe that this is what a transplant is supposed to look like . I am putting vit E on the donor site 2 times per day , love getting it in my hair ! NOT ! Thanks again Dr Lindsey! I will keep in touch and let you know when I update One picture of the previous scar, and the other at day

Senior Member JustOne Posted March 31, 2012 Author Senior Member Share Posted March 31, 2012 Hey everyone , heres my one month update, most of my grafts have shed but a select few.. everything is back to normal , no pain at the donor site or recipient site besides some redness/numbness. I have not got a picture of the donor site yet , but I will soon . All photos taken under lots of bathroom lighting. I would like to start a topical solution and have 5% minoxidil but haven't used any yet...would it be safe to start it at 1month out? Take care! Regular Member Dr. William Lindsey Posted April 30, 2012 Regular Member Share Posted April 30, 2012 Redness has peaked as expected. Just to clarify, those pluggy grafts were not from us... And they'll be hidden in a few more months when our work starts to grow in. Thanks for the update. Dr. L William H. Regular Member SparkPlugs Posted May 1, 2012 Regular Member Share Posted May 1, 2012 JustOne, Now that the healing and shedding are behind you, your recipient area looks great and the only thing left to do is to wait for it to grow. (some times the waiting part seem to be as hard, if not harder, than the healing itself). Dr. Lindsey did a superb job in re-creating your hairline. The old micro grafts will be easily blended in and concealed once the new hair will start to grow in. How does your donor area feel and looks two month post-op? Wishing you a speedy and quality growing. Thanks for the update.
Senior Member JustOne Posted May 1, 2012 Author Senior Member Share Posted May 1, 2012 Thanks for the comments Sparks and Bucks. Senior Member JustOne Posted June 27, 2012 Author Senior Member Share Posted June 27, 2012 (edited) Hi everyone , so its near 4 months since my repair with Dr Lindsey . Things seem to be going quite alright, I am seeing some new hairs come out .. obviously hope that a lot more come out .lol.. but Its only 4 months so I am feeling fine Looking at the photos ... to me its already looking much better. I do still wear a hat most places public ..... but im thinking another month of growth might remove the hat Take a look at the new photos , trying to keep the same over head lighting, with my hair wet and combed back. My scar seems to be fine , but for one spot where I recall dr lindsey saying he couldnt cut it out because it was too low from the previous surgery. Im not sure if I could ever get some fue grafts into the area...I will wait it out a year , it might get better. Last 2 photos are from the previous surgery. Senior Member JustOne Posted June 28, 2012 Author Senior Member Share Posted June 28, 2012 I believe the graft per cm2 was between 40-50 . I had about 35-40 cm2 area to work on, so with 1758 grafts .the average was around 45 grafts per cm2 to be exact.
