Regular Member olean Posted March 25, 2012 Regular Member Share Posted March 25, 2012 Hello - firstly, congratulations on this forum - it's really great. I had my first HT six months ago and it's fair to say I am regretting the decision of undergoing the strip method. I kind of wish I could just shave my head again. I have a couple of questions: - I did the HT with one of the recommended doctors on this site. He used the trichophytic closure method. What are the group's experiences on how short I can cut my hair? Is there anyway to improve the appearance of the scar (e.g plastic surgeon) - Typically how much further growth can I expect during months 6-12? 30%? 70%? At 6 months I am extremely disappointed. Thanks in advance, Olean
Senior Member chrisdav Posted March 25, 2012 Senior Member Share Posted March 25, 2012 You cannot really make a valid judgement of the transplant until at least 12 months. http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/148161-what-exactly-hair-transplant-growth-timeline.html Maybe consider fue/beard/body hair into scar. 2 poor unsatisfactory hair transplants performed in the UK. Based on vast research and meeting patients, I travelled to see Dr Feller in New York to get repaired.
Senior Member mattj Posted March 26, 2012 Senior Member Share Posted March 26, 2012 At 6 months you should still see some further growth and thickening. It#s definitely too early to judge the result of your transplant! I am a patient and representative of Dr Rahal. Senior Member Dutch Posted March 26, 2012 Senior Member Share Posted March 26, 2012 It's very early days. I'm just on 6 months myself & you can't see my scar but that's on a grade 3. Try not to go shorter than that. http://www.hairtransplantnetwork.com/blog/home-page.asp?WebID=2329
