CodyR
Everyone who takes the time to post and lets the world to see their trials and tribulations has inspired me to take the next step in the possibility of getting a HT. No decisions have been made, but seeing the results of so many successful transplants has me seriously considering it. I have contacted a highly recommended surgeon that has many fans on this site and I'm waiting for the consultation date to be set. In the mean time I was hoping I could get some honest feedback on the possible benefits or if I would even be a good candidate for a HT? Here are some pictures..... Senior Member HairIsThere Posted June 28, 2009 Senior Member Share Posted June 28, 2009 Hey man, even though your hair loss seems quite extensive and I can't tell how coarse/thick your hair is, some HT surgeons can and do work almost "miracles" in patients like yourself. The moderator of this forum Bill had roughly your amount of hairloss before he started on his HT journey. He has now had 4 HTs and his hair looks really good especially from where he started to where he is now. You can click on his hairloss weblog and check it out. HT's are definitey a legit thing if you chose the right doc and any doc recommended on here are good choices. Good luck man and we're all here to help! - 1 HT ~ 3000 grafts - Regimen: Propecia 1X daily
Senior Member thanatopsis_awry Posted June 28, 2009 Senior Member Share Posted June 28, 2009 Well, you need a good chunk of grafts, for sure, but your laterals looks alright and your head doesn't appear too big (?), especially the crown. In the 2nd pick it looks like there's an odd strip of baldness on the back of your head, right on the lower area of your crown; is this simply your natural loss pattern, or some scarring or something? I'd get on propecia (finasteride) ASAP if you haven't already; best weapon @ maintaining what you got. But ya, if you were to proceed w/ a HT you could def get a huge improvement....possibly even combat and take care of your front and crown in one fell swoop....seems like ~4500 would be a decent # to shoot for; honesty, though, the more the merrier, IMO, especially if you want to target both areas in one go, and not one or the other. ----------- *A Follicles Dying Wish To Clinics* 1 top-down, 1 portrait, 1 side-shot, 1 hairline....4 photos. CodyR
Thank you for the words of encouragement and advice. If I do proceed, , I will follow in the footsteps of so many before me and keep a very detailed account of the process for all to see.
