Senior Member Cant decide Posted April 28, 2013 Senior Member Share Posted April 28, 2013 i know conventional thinking tells us that crowns are black holes for grfts because of the vertical plane the crown its and because hair jets out in different directions. Howvever, I have found that with proper crown styling that employs layering, the crown can achieve a fairly dense looking result. I think patient and doc should discuss planned crown styling preop so he can pack grafts in such a way to complement the style you will maintain in the crown. For example, the hair on my left side naturally wants to go forward so by going with this direction, I think it will do a nice job of covering the left side of the crown. Thoughts? Dr. Glenn Charles
I agree that the patient and the doctor should really plan out any area being transplanted. Hopefully this will prove to give the patient the most coverage and utilize the donor hair as wisely as possible.
