Senior Member 1978matt Posted October 30, 2014 Author Senior Member Share Posted October 30, 2014 Great result! How many grafts/hairs did you get? I had 3988 grafts and being a Norwood 5, doc had to try to get all the way back to the crown, so I don't exoect your appearance of density. I have a long way to go before I see results...I am on Day 12! I happen to know Since21. He had 3500 grafts. Not sure how many hairs that was but 1.8 per graft rings a bell Incredible results! Just read through this whole thread and very impressive. I am curious if you know how many grafts/hairs were used for your temples and temple peaks? Thanks. Cheers. It was about 300 in total. 4,312 FUT grafts (7,676 hairs) with Ray Konior, MD - August 2013 1,145 FUE grafts (3,152 hairs) with Ray Konior, MD - August 2018 763 FUE grafts (2,094 hairs) with Ray Konior, MD - January 2020 Proscar 1.25mg every 3rd day

It's getting to the point where I really don't think about it that much anymore. Hard to believe considering how much I obsessed over it in the first several months following the surgery. Regular Member cruze14 Posted October 30, 2014 Regular Member Share Posted October 30, 2014 Hi Matt Your hair looks top notch. Good for you. This may be a silly question but here I go.. I plan on staying 5-6 days after surgery with the Dr Konior. What are the best hats to wear so not to disrupt the grafts and also is it wise to do a little sightseeing after say the 2nd or 3rd day after surgery or is it best sit tight in the hotel.. Also any thoughts on my own hair situation. Thanks

I looked at your pictures and you seem in better shape than most. I would just let the doc draw the best hairline he thinks and do his stuff. I'd suggest leaving the crown alone if possible unless you have an amazing donor supply. It can only get bigger over the next 20 years, even with Fin. There is not really anything to see near the office and forget about trying to use public transport to get into central Chicago - near impossible! I doubt you will want to do any sightseeing. Swelling will be worst from days 3-5 but you should be ok to fly back on 5-6. 4,312 FUT grafts (7,676 hairs) with Ray Konior, MD - August 2013 1,145 FUE grafts (3,152 hairs) with Ray Konior, MD - August 2018 763 FUE grafts (2,094 hairs) with Ray Konior, MD - January 2020 Proscar 1.25mg every 3rd day

Senior Member matt3480 Posted January 16, 2015 Senior Member Share Posted January 16, 2015 I actually met Matt in person (not sure if he remembers) back when I had my consultation in probably November (he must have flew in to show his progress) and his hair was as amazing in person as it is on these pics. Regular Member blablaman Posted January 21, 2015 Regular Member Share Posted January 21, 2015 Hi, amazing result, congrats! I was wondering why you take propecia just twice a week? Have you seen any documentation for the effectiveness of taking it like this?
Regular Member djgLXXII Posted January 22, 2015 Regular Member Share Posted January 22, 2015 Hey Matt, Question: can you say at which month out did you feel you stopped noticing any improvements to your hairline?
Senior Member 1978matt Posted January 22, 2015 Author Senior Member Share Posted January 22, 2015 Hi, amazing result, congrats! I was wondering why you take propecia just twice a week? Have you seen any documentation for the effectiveness of taking it like this? Side effects (mild headache), so I take it in the evening and sleep through it. I'm comfortable with taking this amount and accept I may need crown work in 5-10 years. No formal documentation but an article by Dr Cooley a while ago said it may be quite effective. He said something similar in a posting a few weeks ago. Hey Matt, Question: can you say at which month out did you feel you stopped noticing any improvements to your hairline? About 10 months the full density seemed to be there. 4,312 FUT grafts (7,676 hairs) with Ray Konior, MD - August 2013 1,145 FUE grafts (3,152 hairs) with Ray Konior, MD - August 2018 763 FUE grafts (2,094 hairs) with Ray Konior, MD - January 2020 Proscar 1.25mg every 3rd day

Senior Member Spanker Posted February 22, 2015 Senior Member Share Posted February 22, 2015 (edited) I'm really digging the salt and pepper look. I looked at some before and after shots of me recently and can not believe how much grey has come in in the last 30 months.
