Regular Member CharlotteMike Posted September 28, 2013 Regular Member Share Posted September 28, 2013 Hi everyone, I am 25, and will be turning 26 in March. I had pretty bad thinning on my crown that has slowed down at least, and I think stopped over the past 2 years. No side effects or anything. I have been taking propecia every other day, as I have heard that DHT is inhibited for 48 hours. anyway, as i approach 26 I wont be able to be on my parents insurance ( as I am a graduate student and will be till i'm 27). I have been saving my stuff. So to preserve what I have, I will either 1) take .5 mg every 2 days, or 2) take 1 mg every 3 days? Which would you think would be better? I have been taking it every other day for a while, but it was 1 mg. Also .5mg every 2 days will last longer, than 1 mg every 3 days btw. Other option, is to buy propecia online. Which scares me a bit. Advice would be appreciated!
Regular Member fransee Posted October 7, 2013 Regular Member Share Posted October 7, 2013 frankly if your worried about running out of money then it wont matter cause youll run out of propecia in the end either way.
Regular Member GoForIt Posted October 7, 2013 Regular Member Share Posted October 7, 2013 Talk to your doctor about getting a prescription for generic proscar (finasteride). This is the same medication as Propecia but comes in a 5mg tablet. You can quarter it using a $5 pill cutter. 30 tablets (a 4 month supply) will probably cost $20-$60. There is some chatter about the generic finasteride not working as well as brand-name Proscar, but if you get it through a US pharmacy with a prescription it is vetted by the FDA. Regular Member uribo Posted November 20, 2013 Regular Member Share Posted November 20, 2013 You probably dont want to quit cause its one of those things you cant stop and go constantly but if its a good chance of budget problems might want to consider it.
