I will admit that I did not do a ton of research as I probably should have but I was ready and eager to get the HT done. I recently found this site and have been reading a lot over the past week. I'm very interested in finding out my situation. I am concerned I paid for more grafts than I received. I had an Artas HT 12/15/16 with Dr. Deyarman that was supposed to be 2000 grafts. I was quoted that it would be 1750-2000 and wanting more coverage I asked if they could do 2000. I believe I'm on my way to a Norwood 6. I was given a good price due to my financial situation. I paid on the day of surgery before the procedure. That morning I asked what the density per cm2 would be and he told me he usually does 20-25 grafts per cm2. This seemed low to me but at the time I was under informed and trusted that he was doing what most other well qualified HT docs would do. As far as getting a count of the grafts harvested and how many were singles, doubles, etc I never received any information on this. I thought the Artas robot must be counting how many grafts were taken but I don't know for sure. I don't know if what was taken made it into my head. As I was healing, I was inspecting my incisions and trying to do a rough count and it seems to me that I don't have 2000 scabs. I will post pictures below. I did text the doctor asking if maybe there were multiple follicles in each incision and he simply replied "yes". No further discussion or clarification was given. I'm not ready to push the matter but feel I might not have received the 2000 that I paid for. I'm hoping that people on this site can advise as best as possible. I know my pics aren't the best but its all I have. The first 2 are day of surgery before and after, then 2 days after(which looks like it might be enough grafts) then 6 days out where the scabs look low on total count. I also counted his number of cm boxes he drew out before the procedure and I only count about 87 boxes, which at 20 grafts per cm2 doesn't add up to 2000? I just don't know enough to gauge if I really got what I paid for? If not what are my options with the Dr? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
