My parents live closer to Houston and they say within the city it’s a relative ghost town but in the more rural areas people just don’t seem to care. Thank you, again, for your kind words. I really do appreciate it. Seeing your post is sort of like getting mail in war times , thanks for the update and detailed analysis. Funny feeling I got the other day, wanting to just schedule a FUE appt with a surgeon a year out to fill in my scar and crown , sounds crazy because I’m not even sure what my hair looks like. guess I’ve been home too long . stay safe my friend

It looked to me like you had a good amount of grafts thrown into that crown. If anything you’re gonna have one hell of an excellent starting point! I’m really looking forward to your growth. It’ll start before you know it and then while it’s happening it’ll feel like nothing is happening. Haha. Thank you. Stay safe, as well.
Valued Contributor Steeeve Posted April 21, 2020 Author Valued Contributor Share Posted April 21, 2020 @det9925 Thank you so much. I really appreciate it. I wish I could give you all the ‘likes’ for the compliment. I understand where you’re coming from. The area that bothers me the most is this,I just want it to match in strength to either side of it. The left side is weaker in general and I’ll hear my doctor’s assessment before making my final decision. My biggest point of concern is my crown, of course, but I’d still prefer to touch it up if I’m able to. I’m also not looking for ultra strength in there and along the hairline. Just for the density to be more uniform. Thanks again, man.
Valued Contributor Steeeve Posted April 22, 2020 Author Valued Contributor Share Posted April 22, 2020 So yesterday I had a FaceTime meeting for a potential job later on in the summer. The call went well and I’m keeping my fingers crossed but I threw in some dermmatch and fibers and figured after the call I’d just grab some pics for the forum. I went ahead and covered my whole head wondering how my crown would fare. I personally didn’t care for how it all looked in my crown but my front to mid scalp was on point. Under the ring light: I probably won’t put anything in my crown again until I get some fluff placed in there.

I’m, honestly, still not sure when I’ll proceed. I still haven’t been able to reach out to Dr Arocha. I had the idea that I would wait until the pandemic started to slow a bit but now it’s looking like that’s pretty far off. I was also dealing with not having a job but I just started one yesterday working for a call center in a hospital. That almost threw a wrench into things. I have dermmatch and Caboki in my crown in the last picture of the set I posted above. If I use it I typically just put it in the transplanted area to help give it a little more bulk and leave the crown be. It just doesn’t look quite as natural as I would like to the naked eye. A little powdery. The color is off a bit. Knowing that I’ll eventually get my crown covered it doesn’t really bother me all that much having it exposed. I’m really looking forward to getting it covered, though! LOL

Valued Contributor Steeeve Posted July 12, 2020 Author Valued Contributor Share Posted July 12, 2020 (edited) I’ll be 15 months post op in about 5 days or less and I just wanted to post some pics of how I’ve been playing with my hair. I’ve mostly been letting it grow because I don’t want to go out and get a haircut. I’ve trimmed it myself here and there but mostly it’s just been getting longer. Just to give everyone reminder or what I was looking at preop: This is just after 13 months: These next few pics were all taken about two weeks later in early June. I took them in the span of one day but a few hours apart from one another. I had run a relaxer through my hair so it’s much straighter and a lot easier to manage. I just really liked the body of my hair in the next pic. It was taken the next week, still in early June. This next set of pics was taken in the latter part of June. This was taken 2 days later. These next couple of pics were taken on July 1st. They’re kind of potato-y but I’m just showing off the length. So these last two are to show how much work is realistically left. They were taken last Friday, the 10th.I have spoken to my doctor and we devised a plan to move forward. I’ll go into that closer to my 15 month mark. I’m so happy about my hair so far but I’m really looking forward to continuing my restoration. I hope this finds everyone well. I’ll be back here in a few days to talk more about my progress. Stay safe.✌🏻 Edited July 12, 2020 by Steeeve The pictures were scattered around the post.

Senior Member Mycroft Posted July 13, 2020 Senior Member Share Posted July 13, 2020 The side sweep is a good look. The way you have it styled in this latest set of images definitely seems more flattering for the crown as well. The length on it definitely helps to mask the barrenness of the crown. Even when the front falls to the side the hair towards the mid scalp tends to fall back over the crown. In lower light environments it’s very effective. Too bad I can’t go to any bars with the pandemic raging on...

Valued Contributor Steeeve Posted July 17, 2020 Author Valued Contributor Share Posted July 17, 2020 So yesterday marked 15 months post op. I can confidently say that I have seen some major improvement in the characteristics that the transplanted hairs have gone through. Those hairs have gotten a lot thicker since the 12 month mark and the wave has only grown more so. I don’t know how much more it’s going to really change in the next few months but I do still plan to update at 18 months as that is expected to be the final result. Many thanks to everyone who was so complementary after my last post. I really appreciate all your support. I’ve been letting my hair grow for awhile and got the itch to do something different with it but with everything going on in the world right now I hadn’t been particularly excited to go out and get a haircut so I cut it myself. I wanted to keep the length on top while keeping the sides pretty short. I think it turned out well. Pre op: Same format as always. Bathroom then ring light and no product/fibers. Under the ring light. Well. I love it. So Dr Arocha said that for the next procedure we’re going to go slightly smaller and do 2000 graft into my scalp. I’m still going to proceed with another strip. My hairline and the area in green will share 500 grafts while the crown will get 1500. I’m hopeful that would be the last of the last of the transplants for awhile. I’d prefer to get one more strip out if that we’re possible but I also want to throw grafts into my scar so that I may cut it shorter if I have the desire to, however, if I’m not completely happy with density I may push for one more small strip. I don’t know. We’ll see. As far as when this will happen could be anybody’s guess. I started a new job in May and now I need to accumulate some paid time off. The clinic is operating under extremely strict protocols right with the pandemic so it’s really up to me. What I do know is that I couldn’t be happier with how my hair has turned out from this first procedure. While I paid the cost of the hair transplant I still feel extremely grateful for what Dr Arocha has given me which is a sense of great confidence and general well being. He is a tremendous doctor and I cannot wait to get back in that chair and go through this all over again with my crown. I hope this finds everybody well. Please stay safe in these scary times. I’ll be around. Happy growing. ✌🏻
Administrators Melvin- Admin Posted July 17, 2020 Administrators Share Posted July 17, 2020 FUT is the right way to go, you look awesome with long hair. You got the perfect type of hair for longer hair. My hair starts to look puffy if it’s long, but yours is like that wavy surfer hair. Once you get the crown done, it’s a shut case 👏🏼 1 I’m a paid admin for Hair Transplant Network. I do not receive any compensation from any clinic. My comments are not medical advice.
