Senior Member Westview Posted June 1, 2021 Senior Member Share Posted June 1, 2021 This is more a question for doctors on this forum, but anyone can answer if they'd like. In what percent of all hair transplant patients does it take for the transplant to be completed at 18 months, instead of the usual 12 months?? Nobody of course knows the exact number, but whats the approximate percent??

I’d say around a quarter of patients see full growth at 18 months. About the same amount that see full growth by 8 months. The vast majority see full growth by 12. Senior Member gillenator Posted June 1, 2021 Senior Member Share Posted June 1, 2021 It really depends on what one's definition is of "to be completed". For me, it includes full caliber maturation...on average that takes up to 15-18 months post-op. 1 Gillenator Independent Patient Advocate I am not a physician and not employed by any doctor/clinic. Regular Member gman849 Posted June 2, 2021 Regular Member Share Posted June 2, 2021 For those 25-30 percent who are 18 monthers what percent off growth do they find themselves at 12 months?

Well......that would obviously be 12/18=0.66. So they are approximately at 66% of their final growth

Senior Member TommyLucchese Posted June 2, 2021 Senior Member Share Posted June 2, 2021 For me the difference was like going from, say, 92% after a year to 100% after 18 months. If it stayed as it was at month 12 I'd have been really happy but there was still even more improvement that came in the final 6 months that was very noticeable. 2,000 grafts FUT Dr. Feller, July 27th 2012. 23 years old at the time. Excellent result. Need crown sorted eventually but concealer works well for now. Propecia and minoxidil since 2010. Fine for 8 years - bad sides after switching to Aindeem in 2018. Switched to topical fin/minox combo from Minoxidil Max in October 2020, along with dermarolling 1x a week. Employeesmustwashhands
Does it make a difference if the hair was implanted in the forehead area or in the back of the head?

What percentage would you estimate is the proportion of these people who have to wait 18 months for their final result?

If its just mostly the forehead, then yes they are more likely to be 12 months or under (of course there are exceptions to that). What percentage would have to wait 18 months if its just their forehead I have no idea, but I think it would be quite low
