Senior Member Jotronic Posted October 28, 2009 Senior Member Share Posted October 28, 2009 This local patient came in for mild hairline reshaping and density. In one session Dr. Wong and his team transplanted 1489 grafts to accomplish the agreed upon goals. The results are two years post-op. Senior Member thanatopsis_awry Posted October 28, 2009 Senior Member Share Posted October 28, 2009 Pristine work! Always nice to see a small session used appropriately. It seems like he has super supporting density and you didn't have to really go too deep into any existing hair. ----------- *A Follicles Dying Wish To Clinics* 1 top-down, 1 portrait, 1 side-shot, 1 hairline....4 photos. H & W Doug
thanatopsis_awry Thanks for your comments thanatopsis_awry. His density is average to good in the donor area and the density behind the transplanted area was also good as you observed. Under these conditions, the transplanted area didn't need to extent too far into the existing hair as you stated. One of the benefits of shaving the perimeter of existing hair during surgery is the resulting seamless transition from transplants to existing hair. If done properly, you can't tell where the transplant ends and the existing hair starts. I am a salaried employee of Hasson and Wong since 2001. Opinions expressed are my own. Bill - Seemiller
Joe, I must say, Dr. Wong certainly created a very nice natural looking and refined hairline on this patient. It's good to see the kings of the ultra megasessions showing that smaller procedures are sometimes appropriate. Bill P.S. Doug, welcome to our discussion forum my friend. I hope things are well. Senior Member Jotronic Posted October 30, 2009 Author Senior Member Share Posted October 30, 2009 Thanks Bill, Cases like this are not out of the ordinary for Dr. Wong and Dr. Hasson. Smaller sessions make sense for lots of patients. This patient had no need, much less any space, for a megasession. The need defines the approach and our approach is to get the right density ( or coverage or both) in as few sessions as possible for patients like this just like we try to get as many as safely possible for those with more aggressive loss. Senior Member rpachigo Posted October 30, 2009 Senior Member Share Posted October 30, 2009 I think his receded hairline may have been more noticeable to him and me b/c of his receded chin. Your eyes carry to his hairline and you can see that imo. So packing grafts there to tidy it up and bring it down a little I think improves his looks greatly. If he had a strong chin, I don't know if it would be as eye catching to me at least. Excellent work. Senior Member M1A1 Posted October 30, 2009 Senior Member Share Posted October 30, 2009 Jotronic, Let me just echo rpachigo sentiment. It is amazing how just a litle here and a little there goes along way in enhancing a persons looks... Didn't mean to get to technical with you-LOL. Anyway, another great job H&W... H & W Doug
Hey Bill, I just now noticed your ps welcoming me to the forums. Thanks! Senior Member M1A1 Posted November 10, 2009 Senior Member Share Posted November 10, 2009 Jo, Wow, the HD video is awesome-truly shows the refined hairline. By the way, can you suggest an easy to use camera that allows you to control the flash function. Thanks, My Hair Loss Website - Hair Transplant with Dr. Ron Shapiro
Senior Member Jotronic Posted November 12, 2009 Author Senior Member Share Posted November 12, 2009 M1A1, Glad you like the HD. I cannot imagine ever going back to standard definition video. It's like looking through smudged glass! As far as cameras go, I like the Canons, Nikons and Fuji's. My first few years of documenting my results I used an old Fuji 2.1 mp camera that cost me about 250.00. The Canon listed below is 12.1 and is 129.99 on sale from 149.00. Now, while anything over 3.0 mp is now considered overkill the lenses on even the cheapest Canons are really good. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Ca...854715&skuId=9347405 The Truth is in The Results Dr. Victor Hasson and Dr. Jerry Wong are members of the Coalition of Independent Hair Restoration Physicians
