Sumner Wyall
My Testimonial of Dr Tykocinski and his Staff of Sao Paulo, Brazil I can't say enough about my experience with Dr Tykocinski and his medical staff. I flew down from the US after searching the Internet for the best hair restoration Doctor in the world. The more I read about Dr Tykocinski the more I was convinced he was the one I wanted to do my surgery. I sent a quick email with the information they needed on me. Soon I was talking to Leo, Dr Tykocinski's staff assistant, through Skype. He sent me all the information needed not only the medical info but got my hotel reservation and Brazil's Visa requirements. I arrived in their office at 330pm very tired after the all night flight from Newark, NJ. The staff treated me like family. Leo met me and introduced me to Dr Tykocinski. Our meeting was cordial with Dr Tykocinski very engaging. He explained to me the procedure in perfect English, He took a marker and out lined on my head where the transplanted hair would be placed and how the procedure works. I left the office very pleased with my first impression of Dr Tykocinski and his staff. The next morning was the day I have been waiting for most of my adult life. I was excited and completely confident on knowing I had made the best decision. I was taken to a small room where I changed into surgery clothes and hooked up to an IV. Dr Tykocinski came in and as we talked about world events he trimmed the donation area of the back of my head. I can say I have never met such a friendly and personable Doctor. I know he has lectured all over the world on hair restoration. He is on the cutting edge of this procedure and yet he had a sense of humbleness about him. His demeanor was warm, friendly and respectful. Then I was taken to the Operating Room (OR). I have never seen an OR this magnificent before. The room was huge with a large picture window floor to ceiling on one entire wall looking out into an atrium full of native plants and a waterfall. Along one wall were seven or eight microscopes, the operating table, hi-Tec equipment and chairs where the Doctor sits during the procedure. I noticed the room was spotless and soft music was piped in. I was in awe of my surroundings. Before I knew it the procedure was over. Fifty one hundred grafts were in place and it was close to 10pm. I was taken into the same room that I was prepped in to change back into my clothes and given a light dinner. They called me a cab for the short ride back to the hotel. I couldn't believe what I saw when I looked in the mirror. I saw hair on the top of my head that has been missing for 30years. I was so excited. I should have done this long ago however the technology is so much better today. I'm glad I waited. I can't say enough about how satisfied I am with Dr Tykocinski and his staff and clinic. The long ride down to Sao Paulo was worth it. I would do it again. Thank you again Dr Tykocinski and your staff for a job will done. Sincerely, Sumner Wyall

Raphael84
Thats a great write up Sumner. With all the descriptions and relaxed music it makes me want to close my eyes, and just be there, sitting in that chair. 5100 grafts sounds very impressive too. I also, would love to see some pics of your experiences. They would be greatly welcomed on this community! Thanks! Senior Member thanatopsis_awry Posted August 9, 2009 Senior Member Share Posted August 9, 2009 I like Dr. Tykocinski's work; would look forward to seeing your case documented! Also, if I could pick one doctor solely based off of location, it'd be Tykocinski. ----------- *A Follicles Dying Wish To Clinics* 1 top-down, 1 portrait, 1 side-shot, 1 hairline....4 photos. Senior Member mmhce Posted August 9, 2009 Senior Member Share Posted August 9, 2009 Sumner, Congratulations on your recent transplant. I too was considering Dr. Tykocinski, before making my final decision. The real challenge would be the wait now. P.S. I agree with Raphael; 5100 grafts does sound impressive! take care... Dr. Glenn Charles
I am sure you will be happy with the choice you made to have your procedure with Dr. Tykocinski. I am lucky to have met Arthur many years ago at a ISHRS conference. We have become very good friends. He has given me an open invitation to visit him in Brazil. I have been unable to travel there yet, but am looking forward to visiting him soon. Dr. Tykocinski is one of the great minds in the field of hair restoration. His presentations at the conferences are as creative and innovative as any I have seen in the past 10 years. We have performed live surgeries together at the Live Surgery Workshop in Orlando and his surgical skills are more than impressive. I do not need to wish you good luck. Just be patient and good things will happen in time.
