It's a little bit thin, but saying a giant chunk of hair is missing is exaggerating. This would have been considered a great result for one transplant some years ago. We always say it's very unlikely that anyone is going to get full density from one hair transplant unless they only have a very small area to fill. Most people will need two transplants to get the density they desire, if it's even possible.

It looks like a chunk to me but if you're saying this is within a normal range for a hair transplant I trust you. It sucks that it only happened in one spot but I don't think it'll be too hard to  correct with a smaller procedure in the future
