My Natural Experiment (monthly updates) - Saw Palmetto 20% and Trichoxidil 2.5%

I know that you did very extensive research and know more things than most users here. I am wondering why you didn't decide to try Adenosine as Minoxidil alternative. It is natural occurring substance in body and a study shows the same efficiency.

My second question. By Trichoxidil with Saw Palmetto you mean TRICHOMETTO? If not, why did you decide that instead of TRICHOMETTO?

And third question. If Saw Palmetto is going to work it will work by 5ar inhibition. Wouldn't this cause the same sides as finasteride? I mean 5ar is 5ar, why would make Saw Palmetto difference? Maybe the answer is that it is weaker 5ar inhibitor. But wouldn't be the same to just reduce finasteride strength of topical (to something like 0.0005)? Sorry for so many questions, I am in similar situation and thinking to try natural.

Trichoxidil with Saw Palmetto and dermarolling once a week

PD: I’m allergic to minoxidil

Do you mind sharing what kind of allergic reaction you have to minoxidil?

You don't have too, but I am curious if that can be called an allergy or just a side effect

It's an allergy

It can be either to Minoxidil or PG:Ethanol or some people have both.

Best to do a patch test on your arm, it's cheap

Any updates @mustang? What's your verdict?

Thanks in advance.

It definitely worked. I stopped using it a few months ago and my hair has gotten thinner without a doubt. No side effects either. I would recommend it for a maintenance treatment if you are over 30 and don't want to take Finasteride.

I would start again but since I might be going on TRT soon it will not be enough so will hop on Liposomal Finasteride 0.01%-0.025% with 17 a-Estradiol

@mustang When you state "it definitely worked", are you referring to saw palmetto 20% and trichoxidil?  If so, is this a topical solution and where did you purchase from?  Or did you make yourself (and if so, can you elaborate how)?  I've been on oral Min and oral Dut for over 1 year and still losing ground.  I'm looking for alternative solutions.  Thanks in advance.

Yes, 25% and Trichoxidil 2.5%. It's an oily liquid. I used it topically EOD and once a week with a dermaroller at 0.5mm

I don't think it will do anything for you if you are on oral Dutasteride.

Maybe have a loot into 17 a-estradiol. DHT is not currently causing your hair loss as it's suppressed with your oral dutasteride intake, it's probably your scalp free testosterone (which spikes with Dutasteride) and 17a-estradiol would help with that or other stronger anti androgens (RU which I don't recommend)

Im using this now with Specteral RS( with adenosine and other ingredients, I just started this), LLLT(eod), alfatradiol 0.1%, Dermrolling, Specteral shampoo and conditioner, And sparse amounts of CB-03-01 sporadically ( it gives me some chest tightness like all other anti-androgens do Ru, fluridil etc).

I was using it every day for the first month and a bit but I think that's a bit much. I use it eod now and so far I'm not sure if anything has been happening. I have been shedding since day 1 so it's not directly a result of the treatment but I shed more on days I use it when showering. My itch has reduced for sure. I got gyno from finasteride and I have felt the same tingles there but I don't think there's growth. My libido is def lower but I'm not sure that its the cause. All. I can say so far being 2 months in is that my hair quality is better despite shedding ungodly amounts. It feels less frail and looks a bit better overall. Thanks @mustang for making this thread as I cant find a single other person who has tried this.  I have ordered Trichoxidil 5% directly from farmacia anderra to use that twice daily, I will still oil but much less.

Hello, mustang. I wanted to send a private message, but they are closed. Can you advise me?

I’ve had two hair transplants: FUT 5000 grafts and FUE 1500 grafts. The first one was very successful and i used Lipodut 0.5 afterwards with excellent results for 1.5 years. The second transplant was on the crown two years later, but i didn’t see any results. After the second surgery, i took a six-month break from Lipodut. I've been using Lipodut 0.5% for a year, but my crown has thinned significantly and my overall hair condition has worsened—it was better before the second surgery.

What can I do?

  1. Use Dutasteride 0.05% with Alfatradiol 0.025%. If that doesn’t help add CB0301 1%-2.5%?
  2. Should i also use minoxidil? It helped me a lot for two years before the first surgery, but i experienced a severe shedding phase afterward, which I’m afraid of.

I got this information from your messages. Is there anything else i can add? Thank you!

Not sure why you can't send me a message tbh.

I can't give you medical advice or tell you what to use

All I can say is that if Dutasteride is not working you I would personally stack it up with something else. There are a few options being Alfatradiol 0.025% the safest/mildest, CB-03-01 at 2.5% or 5%(safe but not so mild) to RU or another topical anti androgen which are experimental together with Dutasteride or Finasteride.

Hair lenght is a little different but you get the point.

Definetly starting again from September 1st.

Interestingly enough this solution gave me similar side effects to finasteride. I was using other stuff so it might have been a combination but as soon as I eliminated it my sides went away.

used for 3 months

sides: low libido, poor quality yk, and gyno. Like actually gyno forming.( it formed before with fin, went down and then  got worse on the mesometto)

It's worth noting I stopped finasteride a month before due to the same sides and my hormones were probably not fully at baseline. I got blood tests and I had higher testosterone than normal (not as high as when I was on fin) and high DHEA(likely due to CB? I have no baseline reading of this), progesterone was in range ( it wasn't on fin) .

I was using Cb-03-01 ( very sparsely and was using before starting, this doesn't give me sexual sides or gyno just chest tightness) , niz shampoo, spectral RS from ds labs(nothing hormonal here) , 0.1% alfatradiol and microneedling.

Now I ordered 5% trichoxidil with alfa 0.1% and have been using that for the last month with no ongoing side effects. I still use the Spectral rs and Niz shampoo (DS Labs shampoo and conditioner) with no current side effects. I'm 90% sure the saw and pumpkin seed oil was the cause. Same sides as finasteride but to a much smaller degree with little to no improvement in shed although I noted some modest thickening which seems to continue on my current regimen.  My current regimen seems to keep the itch completely at bay, I still shed but I feel like my hair quality is slowly improving and new hairs are sprouting. Probably won't work forever but for now its definitely helping.

Just dropping this here for anyone researching in the future, you're very unlikely to experience what I did. If you have questions ask

Note that I will be using Trichometto, not MesoMetto

It's almost the same with less ingredients and no dermarolling

You state that you ordered 5% trichoxidil with alfa 0.1%.  I can't seem to find any products with "trichoxidil" as an ingredient.  Is that something proprietary that you are having compounded by a local pharmacy?  If not, where do you order from?  Also, you think the Saw Palmetto and pumpkin seed oil were the ingredients that were causing your itch?

May I ask where you get 0.1% Alfatradiol? I'm looking for ways to get something like this shipped to the US
