MXF
Hello everyone, after much consideration, I am sharing my hair transplant journey. This is my first ever post on a forum 🫣 My consultation with Dr. Freitas involved filling out a questionnaire and submitting photos of my hair. The clinic provided me with the price and the number of grafts required (3,200). My procedure was divided into two days, and I spent approximately $10,100. Before the hair transplant, I was taking 1mg of oral Dutasteride and ketoconazole 2% shampoo as pre-operative medication. My experience with the clinic was exceptional. The facility was very aesthetic and clean. The staff formed a close-knit team that maintained excellent communication. They were all wonderful ladies who spoke good English and Spanish. Accommodation and meals were provided and the clinic was conveniently located, about 10-15 minutes' drive from the hotel, depending on traffic. Dr. Freitas took photos and designed my hairline, a result that I personally am very pleased with. The technician who extracted my grafts told me she had years of experience, and Dr. Freitas handled the implantation. He was a super easy going guy and good conversationalist. He showed me his own hair transplant, performed by one of his employees in the past, which significantly boosted my confidence in choosing him as my surgeon. Post op I am taking oral Minoxidil 5mg, oral Dutasteride 0.5mg, Ketconazole 2% shampoo, and Complidermol (Vitamins) daily. Freitas and Team (10/10) Clinic (10/10) Hair Transplant Pain (4/10) until the end where I was feeling pain but didn’t want to whine. Do not do this lol (8/10) Hotel and food (7.5/10) Valencia (9/10) Final Thoughts: Overall great experience, Freitas informed me I was a Norwood 3 or 4 (can´t remeber) and would need a 2nd surgery in the future. Based off Freitas reputation and my thick wavy/curly hair I expect a great result. My only worry is I have seborhic dermatitis and hope this does not affect my results. I use my finger tips to scratch my itch daily on donor and receipt area frequently after I removed scabs on 8-10th day. I experience heavy dandruff Pre op Pre op Hairline Post op day 1 After scab removal l Day 12 Now month 1 Edited September 9, 2023 by MXF

Regular Member Mitsen Posted September 14, 2023 Regular Member Share Posted September 14, 2023 (edited) Grats my guy! From the start it looks that you're going to have amazing results! Your hairs are very thick and that's a huge plus for a transplant. Best of luck! We are all waiting for updates! MXF
month 4.5 I’m pretty disappointed at the moment, midscalp hasn’t really grown at all. Hairline is coming in but with gaps
Regular Member thetdog666 Posted December 19, 2023 Regular Member Share Posted December 19, 2023 Early days still
Regular Member Kraki77 Posted December 20, 2023 Regular Member Share Posted December 20, 2023 Can you post normal pictures without exposing your scalp with hand? They would be more useful to assess the situation. You are still early in the process, there's no need to stress about anything. There are some people who are fast growers but don't compare yourself to others. Everything looks on track to me. If you want to, you can send more pictures for us to have a better perception. Relax and believe in the right outcome.
Regular Member Mhahart_MahSole Posted December 20, 2023 Regular Member Share Posted December 20, 2023 I agree with the others, definitely still early days! Give it a bit more time. But honestly it looks good to me.
Regular Member Kraki77 Posted December 20, 2023 Regular Member Share Posted December 20, 2023 I also highly recommend to watch this video if you haven't already, just to realise that your situation is completely normal. Nothing to worry about.

MXF
Month 5 and and little over 2 weeks. No big changes yet, super worried at this point. I’ve been using pre HT hair to cover the huge gaps
Regular Member Kraki77 Posted January 20 Regular Member Share Posted January 20 You have mentioned seborhic dermatitis, maybe that is the reason for delayed growth. It's hard to tell, have you noticed any difference since month 4? How old are you? Listen, I know it's hard because there are cases on this forum where you see earlier growth from the same doctor. And I understand your anxiety. But I still firmly believe that you are just late bloomer. Hang in there and don't overthink too much.
Regular Member DomTransplant Posted January 20 Regular Member Share Posted January 20 Hey mate, I know this is worrying, but there's the most positive thing is that the post-surgery scab removal looks extremely good at Day 12. Are you a fast grower, no... but you're not so far behind that it's unreasonable. Hopefully month 6-9 will be a turning point. I'd take some real close ups on a high quality camera phone, I'd imagine seeing new growth would help alleviate some of the stress. The quality of images is poor so at times it can make growth look a little worse. Still feel this will be a good result, but you're just a little slower. Keep us updated and keep your head up, this will be fine.
Regular Member jjalay Posted January 20 Regular Member Share Posted January 20 If you have dermatitis i would reccomend to talk with dr de freitas about getting on miedication about it. Are you using Nizoral for this?
MXF
@Kraki77 @jjalay I am 27 and i’ve been using Ketoconazole 2% shampoo. I’ve been on treatment even before the HT so I don’t think it’s that but who knows. Everything I read online suggests sebderm isn’t an issue with HT.
