Senior Member Etownone Posted March 28 Senior Member Share Posted March 28 Good luck. I think you're gonna be happy with your results. And that area in the donor from the previous HT was a little over harvested. Good thing Dr Mwamba did not take any more from there. I saw him for my 2nd HT in Brussels early this month. He's great. Really takes his time. I'm curious on your 2nd minty update.
Regular Member Lewis Horsley Posted March 28 Author Regular Member Share Posted March 28 Thanks @Etownone yes there is some overharvesting in that one section for sure. No one else has ever noticed apart from me (so I’m lucky it’s not too bad) I think I’ll wait until 3 months as there’s nothing much to report… pretty much back to baseline how I looked pre-transplant 😅
Regular Member Lewis Horsley Posted May 1 Author Regular Member Share Posted May 1 (edited) 3 Months Update Finally at the 3 month mark!! I should have now entered the party 😵💫 I swear the first 3 months take forever, especially when you’re looking at your hair every day. Ive noticed over the past week or so, the outline/shadow of the transplanted hair has become noticeable around the temples and mini hairs are starting to sprout. Still early days but looking forward to this next month. Medication Update Approximately 6 weeks after the surgery I started oral minoxidil 1.25mg. Will be increasing to 2.5mg soon (I’ve had no noticeable sides) Donor area seems to have now recovered. Pretty much looks no different compared to before this second surgery - which I think is pretty good after another 1600 grafts 👌🏼 Edited May 1 by Lewis Horsley

I remember my donor area was destroyed for the longest time after my 2nd FUE. How long does one have to wait to book a Mwamba procedure?
Regular Member Lewis Horsley Posted May 28 Author Regular Member Share Posted May 28 Thanks man @WhatsHairGotToDoWithIt one of the reason I chose Mwamba was because of his shorter waiting times. from memory, it was around 3-4 months
Regular Member Lewis Horsley Posted May 31 Author Regular Member Share Posted May 31 4 Months (as of tomorrow) Noticed a lot of growth this past 4 weeks. The temple points are coming in nicely (still need some thickening up to do). Along my hairline I now have the new hairs coming in which are approx 1-2 inches in length, so much shorter than my native hair. I predict it’ll be another 2 months at least before my transplanted hair catches up with the length of other hair. donor is looking great IMO Reminder: 2 procedures | approx 4000 total grafts | Fin & Min

Obviously you paid more because you went the unshaven route, which a lot more expensive, is it worth it to do unshaven? Did he quote you for both options that same day of the procedure? Regular Member Lewis Horsley Posted June 4 Author Regular Member Share Posted June 4 Thanks! @WhatsHairGotToDoWithIt I was quoted for both before I confirmed the booking. For me, yes it was definitely worth doing this time. Although I probably would have gone for the shaven route on my first procedure in hindsight

Can you please elaborate as to why you did it this time vs your first transplant?

Regular Member Lewis Horsley Posted July 4 Author Regular Member Share Posted July 4 5 Months (just over) Just had a fresh trim so thought I’d do an update. Everything is coming on well! The transplanted hair is about 1/3 of the length of my native/1st transplant hair currently (not noticeable in these photos) along the hairline. Temples have come in well and frame the face better IMO. Especially for this side-part hairstyle I now have. Donor looks no different from pre this 2nd procedure. There are the slight over harvested areas which are from the first in Turkey (these photos make it look worse than it actually is IRL) Shows how much better the top surgeons are! Meds: 0.5mg Fin & 2.5mg Oral min per day.

Regular Member Lewis Horsley Posted August 2 Author Regular Member Share Posted August 2 6 Months Here We are! I don’t feel like much happens after the 6 months mark. Happy with it for sure! The right side of my temple peak hair seems slightly darker than the native behind it - not sure why!

Regular Member patronovski Posted September 23 Regular Member Share Posted September 23 What about the hairline? You satisficed with the density now? Any photos?
Regular Member JasonElva1990 Posted September 25 Regular Member Share Posted September 25 so 3,64 is the price when shaving all hair and 4.15 is the price where you only shave the donor area and the sides right? Did you pay also for 1600 grafts some extra tax that is in Belgium? I Got quoted 6500 Euro for 1600 grafts with him.
