I had surgery seven months ago. The area in yellow has not grown in.

Is it true that the further back the grafts, and if there are new grafts placed in front, the grafts in back compete for blood supply and take longer to grow or not all?

The first photo shows your hair fully grown out so unless you have progress pics with a much shorter hair length, it’s very difficult to evaluate.

It’s now 8 months and a few days. What are the odds that this is a case of slow growth?

It's hard to know how much (or how little) hair you had in that spot prior to the hair transplant, so we can't properly evaluate it. With that said, it's not going to be as dense as the hairline. The Dr will usually make the area behind the hairline less dense so they don't use up too many grafts in areas that are hard to see or will be easily covered by surrounding hair.
