Dr. Pittella - 7200 grafts - 30 years old

Hello everyone at HTN! I’m Denis.

Currently, I am on my third day post-op from my procedure at Dr. Felipe Pittella's Clinic. 

I chose Dr. Pittella for this operation because I believe he is the best in Brazil, and even globally, I saw a few others doctors who are close to his level. Some factors definitely contributed for my choice, such as the fact I was able to see his results on social media from all angles, and his approach of not prescribing Finasteride made me confident. 

Pre-surgery Planning
During pre-surgery appointment, I was undergoing clinical treatment with Minoxidil, which helped strengthen my donor area. Dr. Pittella saw my head in person and noted that more grafts would be needed to cover the entire area, which was expected from our video consultations. Pittella also plans the surgery based on the person's head size, which can impact the number of grafts needed, and as you can see, I don’t have a small head (haha). Using a program with technology capable of precisely estimating the number of grafts needed for coverage, we arrived at this number: 7200, which I thought would be impossible.

Surgery Day
The surgery lasted about 11 hours. Dr. Pittella mentioned it would be one of the largest numbers of grafts in a single day. I had a very good gradient, meaning the density and quality of the grafts in my donor area were high, which facilitated achieving a good result. My donor area was reasonable and capable of generating a very good outcome, according to him.

Post-op
I am on my third day post-op, and my donor area is healing very well despite such a high number of grafts being extracted. You can see in the photos below. I thought I would have more issues with healing, but I see it’s recovering better than I imagined.

Clinical Treatment
I am using a dose of 2.5mg Minoxidil, Ketoconazole and Clobetasol shampoo, and Biotin.

Conclusion
In summary, the experience was incredible, and I am very excited to see that the surgery was a success and that I made one of the best choices. Thank you for your attention. I will always be here sharing my journey with you all.

On a more serious note, when did Dr.Pitella instruct you to resume the ketoconazole and the clobetazsol shampoo after the transplant ?
