Regular Member hockeyman Posted July 6 Regular Member Share Posted July 6 I have been on the xyon topical finasteride for almost two years. No sexual sides and it has been effective in halting my hairloss. Something I have noticed is that my body hair is significantly reduced. If I'm not mistaken, the topical is thought to reduce systemic dht by about 30 percent so I wonder if this could be playing a role. Has anyone else experienced the same thing? Of course, it could be completely unrelated and entirely coincidental. By the way I'm an old fart (61).
Valued Contributor Gatsby Posted July 6 Valued Contributor Share Posted July 6 I think at 61 it may not be due to finasteride (although it can happen from reducing DHT levels). I can tell you one way to reverse it is to take oral minoxidil! I've got hair on my back and biceps growing now! I find it a little disconcerting, although, I really don't mind the reduction. Particularly on my arse.
Regular Member BackFromTheBrink Posted July 6 Regular Member Share Posted July 6 I take oral fin but can say itโs had a marked impact on body hair.
Moderators Al - Moderator Posted July 6 Moderators Share Posted July 6 Finasteride thinned out my body hair too. That was one of several reasons I stopped using it. I needed to use body hair to transplant to my scalp. My body hair has been increasing again since I stopped taking fin. ย Al Forum Moderator (formerly BeHappy) I am a paid forum moderator for hairrestorationnetwork.com.
