Regular Member WSR9351 Posted August 13 Regular Member Share Posted August 13 Hi guys 😁 I've recently bulk purchased Oral Dutasteride from a UK website (hairrepairclinic.co.uk) as they offered competitive but not suspciously cheap prices, free delivery etc. The advert said that I wasn't buying a specific brand of medication, and that they would supply whatever they had in stock. They've sent me medication from a company called Crescent Pharma Limited who after some research appear to have all of the necessary accreditations according to the NHS and .Gov websites. The worry begins when online reviews of the company's various medications state that people have found them to be cheap and ineffective (nobody has specifically quoted Dut by the way, and they appear have an extensive range of everything from paracetamol to quite specialised medicine). My concern is that obviously I may be wasting money, but more importantly time and ground on future hair loss. It's difficult for me to truly judge the effectiveness at the momement as my hair is buzzed short as I recover from a revent HT, so things are a bit all over the place anyway ! The other part is that I've been hoping that a DHT blocker in combination with Oral Min would do some of the heavy lifting as part of my overall result. Again, early days on the HT so hard to know which is effective (if at all) as they're taken together each day. So, I suppose my question is do people generally hold strong opinions on particular brands of Finasteride or Dutasteride and experience of their effectiveness (or lack of) relating to the manufacturer ? Perhaps somebody here has some experience of the Crescent Pharma brand ?
Senior Member TakeAction Posted August 13 Senior Member Share Posted August 13 My recommendation to remove all doubt is to simply get a DHT blood test done. On dutasteride, your DHT should be very low, maybe even below the bottom of the range. Here's my DHT on dutasteride: If you can get a baseline, even better. If you're already on finasteride, it can takes some time for DHT to come back to normal. If you're already taking dutasteride, it would take weeks for it to clear your system and your DHT to return to normal so really not much point in trying to get a baseline there. It's not necessary though, you just need to see that your DHT levels are low to know that it's working. 1 Dr. Ted Miln | 6005 grafts, FUT/FUE Combo | June 2024
Senior Member TheGreatPretender Posted August 13 Senior Member Share Posted August 13 Doesn't matter much. I have used Avodart, Milpharm and now i'm using Crescent. They are all the same. With Finasteride I used Accord, Milpharm and now I got Relon Chem. 1
