Regular Member mustafer Posted September 1 Regular Member Share Posted September 1 (edited) Hello, I plan to use my beard hair for my next hair transplant. Can grafts be extracted from the red area or do they grow shorter than the blue area? If yes how many can be extracted and used for the crown (mixed with scalp) In my first transplant in June, grafts were extracted homogeneously, mainly from the blur area and below. Thanks Edited September 1 by mustafer
Senior Member shiba1985 Posted September 1 Senior Member Share Posted September 1 Yes they can. It is a bit harder than extracting from the blue area as the skin is more mobile, and the angle can be challenging. They should grow similar to the hair from blue area.

Senior Member Approach Posted September 1 Senior Member Share Posted September 1 (edited) Just curious, will the entire area (in red) be exclusively beard hair? Edited September 1 by Approach
Regular Member mustafer Posted September 1 Author Regular Member Share Posted September 1 For the 2nd session it will be mix scalp (2000) and beard (1000)

Would think it would need to be closer to 4k if you are a NW7.
Regular Member mustafer Posted September 1 Author Regular Member Share Posted September 1 First sitting was 6007 and second estimated between 2700-3000. I’m not sure if my donor can handle more so might be more from beard to reach 4000. I would need a 3rd one after 1 year to fill the gaps if my donor recovers. This is a photo 3 weeks ago. Yeah. the crown is big enough that you will need 4k at least. Your donor from this angle looks fine to me, so maybe ask Eugenix if they are willing to up the graft count. I know they tend to be conservative, which is good, but I think 3k just won't be satisfactory for this large of a crown.

Senior Member shiba1985 Posted September 1 Senior Member Share Posted September 1 I wonder what other people opinion is. That does not look like 6007 grafts to me. but could be wrong.
