Hair fixers post surgery

Recommended Posts

Hi. Just had my surgery and the post operation doc states no hair fixers (such as lacquers, waxes, etc.) for 4 months. That's a long time. I work in a professional envirment and can't roll around with no product looking like I don't take care of myself. I have plenty of hair without the transplant that I used to style so I would say 1-2 months in I will need to start using some product. I was told natural things are ok like coconut oil but I don't see how that fixes hair in place.

What are my options? Thanks.

If that's what your surgeon has said I would follow their lead. Personally I'd wait until the 2 month mark when you would want to start using product, shave it down again and then when you're back there, hopefully crawling out of the ugly duckling phase you can start using product at month 4 as you've been advised

1 month may be too early, but 4 months seems long.

A high quality aloe Vera gel is really the best alternative, still, you will want to get your doctor’s approval on using this…just make sure it does not have any other additives, just pure aloe Vera gel.

I am not sure if this helps but ever since I started using topical minoxidil foam I don't even use a hair gel. For me the foam seems to hold my hair in place. And since I am already using it, viola.

I just hope Im not using it incorrectly. wash hair, lightly towel dry then air dry followed by 2-3 minutes of massaged in min then a brush or just my fingers. Im an engineer and like the OP I work in a professional environment (sort of) and need to look respectable.

Just my thoughts and opinion.
