Weekly topical Dutasteride vs. daily topical Finasteride from an economical point of view

Hello guys,

an effective 5ARI/DHT-Blocker is a non-negotiable in medical prevention and possibly reversal of androgenetic hair loss.

The two most popular 5ARIs are Finasteride and Dutasteride. Both are alternatively used as a topical. Their topical formulations are popular because of their local therapeutic effect and corresponding reduced side-effects. They have to be applied regularly and indefinitely to reach the desired effect. Topical finasteride is taken approximately daily but topical dutasteride rather weekly due to a greater potency. In many countries, both require a doctor’s prescription though and might not even be reliably commercially available. In my homecountry Germany, there’s mostly just a topical finasteride called „Fynzur“, which has 180 doses and costs approximately 80 Euros, but to my knowledge no topical Dutasteride. Topical Dutasteride would likely have to be ordered from within Europe or alternatively overseas, coming with customs issues (hefty additional tax, quarantine etc.). The Dutasteride supply would likely last well over a year though, because of the weekly schedule.

For someone being based in Europe or outside of the US or Eastern Asia where Dutasteride is widespread: Which of both is the more economical alternative and how significant is the difference in cost?
