Senior Member Doron Harati Posted 7 hours ago Senior Member Share Posted 7 hours ago Hairloss continues regards your DNA, hair transplant doesn't stop hairloss, therefore patients also use Finasteride and Minoxidil to prevent further hairloss. 1 Doron Harati - Patient coordinator for HDC Hair Clinic. Valued Contributor Gatsby Posted 6 hours ago Valued Contributor Share Posted 6 hours ago @Manvendra Singh on average losing 100 hairs a day is normal for anyone. You need to give a hair transplant the full 12 months before making a final judgement on it. As @Doron Harati correctly stated, MPB is genetic and is governed by your DNA. To slow down or block the progression of MPB you need to be on a 5ari. All the best! Regular Member ScottishGuy21 Posted 2 hours ago Regular Member Share Posted 2 hours ago Whilst it’s true MPB will progress over time I’m seeing more and more cases of transplanted hair shedding significantly within a year to 18 months post surgery. This shouldn’t be the case so soon after a transplant with hair that’s more DHT resistant. Scalp issues of course may be a factor but the second shed never happens with cases from the likes of Fuegenix / Dr Ahmad , Zarev etc. I suspect a fair % are down to graft damage or poor placement during the procedure, the graft does grow but ultimately long term doesn’t survive past a hair cycle. Looking at cases where it does happen the native hair remaining and donor areas tend not to show any further deterioration. So something is going on with the hair that’s been moved.
