Minimum density going by hair diameter, hair texture, scalp and hair color

Hi guys,

I was wondering what density I should aim for to prevent a diffuse balding / see-through effect, especially given that a great contrast between scalp and hair color call for increased density.

Average hair diameter is 5,3 microns, hair is slightly curly, my hair colour is dark blond to dark brown and my scalp colour could be described as Fitzpatrick type 3.

All in all, I think these are very average parameters. However, I don’t have the advantage of a light blonde guy. My beard is in fact very dark and may serve as filler one time. If I use product or take finasteride the hair may darken, too…

This is going to vary a lot due to all sorts of factors that are different with each person, but I think generally speaking around 45 grafts per cm2 will give you a full look. There's a certain point where getting more grafts isn't going to achieve a noticeable improvement and you are just wasting grafts that could be used elsewhere or just left in your donor to provide coverage there rather than depleting it.
