am I getting bald?

Hello, I am 23, and I am a bit nervous about if I am getting bald or not.

My father has a lot of hair, and so did his father, but my mother's father was bald, as far as I know, baldness is heridated from mother side.

I always had a really thin hair. Now lately I have noticed that when I move my hand over my hair, I always take the hand out with one or two lost hairs.

As you can see in the pictures, I have hair, but what is worring me more is on the sides, that the hair density is much lower than in other areas.

My hair styler told me last year I was not going to get bald.

How can I know for sure if I am starting to get bald or not? Can you give me any advice or anything that could give me a clue about it?

Thanks a lot in advance

Haha, your hair looks perfect from this angl; if you are paranoid about possibly going bald, which you may still be, go see a dermatologist and get examined and have her look for early stages of minaturization. But, from my view, you are totally fine. If the test results come up positive, however, look into Revita shampoo, propecia, and rogaine 5% foam and weigh your options.

You don't even seem to have a "mature" hairline yet, which you may very well be getting.

man those are some fantastic shots of your forehead. It's beautiful...

Your not losing your hair.

Even if you get a slight recession in your temple region or corners of your hair line, this does NOT indicate that your going bald. I think it is pretty common among guys in their early 20's to get a small response from testosterone.

BUT

I don't see ANY hair loss in those pics. Just your forehead and hand. No, really I don't see any at all.

losing two, three hairs is normal.

By the way, your stylist doesn't know if your going to go bald or not. She/he was just trying to acquire a nice tip.

I would stop even thinking about it and just worry about how your going to style that thick pomp of yours...

kktua,

Welcome to our forum community.

From the pictures, it's difficult to make an evaluation however, if you feel that your hairline has receeded a bit, it's possible that you are experiencing the onset of male pattern baldness. It is also possible that your hairline is just maturing. A hair restoration specialist or dermatologist can perform tests to see if they can note any type of hair miniaturization which would be a sign of hair loss.

I hope this helps get you started.

Bill

First of all , throw your hair stylists opinion out. There is no way they can predict whether or not you will lose your hair. At 23 it is too early to predict ( although a doctor may be able to shed some light on it). At 23 I started losing my hair . Prior to that my head was thick of nice hair.. Some people just have a high forehead so it may be nothing..

See a doc if it's bothering you
