Regular Member GQnDn Posted February 12, 2008 Regular Member Share Posted February 12, 2008 Guys, I've been reading various posts and I'm a bit confused on the scar issue. Do scars stretch after the HT? If so, how do you limit the stretching? Thanks!

Senior Member its752 Posted February 12, 2008 Senior Member Share Posted February 12, 2008 GQnDn, Apparently they can stretch. I noticed immediately postop if I even tipped my head slightly forward I could feel the tensing up in my donor and the muscles connected to that area making the scar want to pull apart somewhat, so try to be carefull even tying your shoes, and for a few months don't do any "rows" if you weight lift or any pulling motion, etc.
Bill - Seemiller
GQnDn, The physician will do a number of things in order to minimize the risk of stretching. As its752 has stated, the patient can help minimize the risk of stretching by minimizing any activity that will put a strain on the scar for the first 3 months. Best wishes, Bill
